Canada-Ontario Agreement Respecting the Great Lakes Basin Ecosystem 2007-2010 Progress Report
The 2007-2010 Canada-Ontario Agreement Respecting the Great Lakes Basin Ecosystem (COA) Progress Report was prepared by the federal and provincial agencies that are party to the 2007-2012 COA, to document accomplishments and challenges to March 31, 2010.
Through COA, the governments of Canada and Ontario cooperate on restoring and protecting the Great Lakes. The Agreement outlines environmental priorities and sets specific goals and actions for the enhancement and preservation of the Basin's ecosystem. COA plays a significant role in meeting Canada's obligations under the Canada-United States Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement, which is the key binational mechanism for protecting water quality and the health of the aquatic ecosystem in the Great Lakes.
