Guidance Document on Federal Interim Groundwater Quality Guidelines for Federal Contaminated Sites
Federal contaminated sites are generally evaluated using the Canadian Environmental Quality Guidelines (CEQG) (CCME 1999) developed by the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment (CCME). The CEQGs are primarily risk-based numerical guidelines set at levels at which it is believed that unacceptable adverse effects on environmental or human health will not occur.
The Federal Interim Groundwater Quality Guidelines are intended to be used as an interim measure until CEQGs for groundwater are available.
