National Inventory Report 1990-2012: Greenhouse Gas Sources and Sinks in Canada - Executive Summary
The Executive Summary provides an overview of the 1990-2012 National Inventory Report. As a signatory to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), Canada is obligated to prepare and submit an annual national greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory of anthropogenic emissions by sources and removals by sinks. Environment Canada is responsible for preparing Canada's official national inventory with input from numerous experts and scientists across Canada. The National Inventory Report (NIR) contains Canada's annual greenhouse gas emission estimates dating back to 1990.
