Species at Risk Range Map Attribute Field Descriptions *All geospatial files are in Canada Lambert Conformal Conic Projection Attribute Fields: OBJECTID: Unique FID Key (default) Shape: Point, Line or Polygon. All range maps are displayed as polygons Common_Name: The common name for that Species At Risk Scientific_Name: The scientific name for that Species At Risk Management_Responisbility: Identifies which agency is legally responsible for monitoring and updating the range map for that particular Species At Risk. SARA_Status: The current status of the Species At Risk in SARA (Species at Risk Act) Schedule: Schedule 1 is the official list of wildlife species at risk. It classifies those species as being either extirpated, endangered, threatened, or a special concern as outlined in the SARA_Status. Once listed, the measures to protect and recover a listed wildlife species are implemented. COSEWIC_Status: The level at which the Species at Risk is listed on COSEWIC. Population: Used to identify which population of that species the status is directed (ie. Eastern Harlequin Duck Population is listed as a Special Concern). Date_Last_Updated: The date at which the range map was last revised or created. FAMILY: Species family name it belongs to. Comments: Additional information pertaining to the dataset Shape_Length: Length of the perimeter of the polygon that identifies the species range (default). Shape_Area: The area of the polygon that identifies the species range (default).
