Prohibition of Certain Toxic Substances Regulations, 2005 (SOR/SOR/2005-41)

The Prohibition of Certain Toxic Substances Regulations, 2005 (hereafter referred to as the Regulations) are made pursuant to subsection 93(1) of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (CEPA 1999). The Regulations prohibit the manufacture, use, sale, offer for sale or import of the toxic substances listed in Schedules 1 and 2 to the Regulations or a mixture or product containing any such toxic substance. Schedule 1 lists prohibited toxic substances subject to total prohibition, with the exception of incidental presence. Schedule 2 includes toxic substances that are subject to prohibitions related to concentration or use.
