Export and Import of Hazardous Waste and Hazardous Recyclable Material Regulations (SOR/2005-149)

The purpose of the Export and Import of Hazardous Waste and Hazardous Recyclable Material Regulations (hereafter referred to as the Regulations) adopted under section 191 of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (CEPA 1999) is to ensure that hazardous waste and hazardous recyclable materials that are transported across international borders (to be exported, imported, or to transit through Canada) are managed appropriately to protect the environment and human health. The Regulations also implement Canada's international obligations with respect to the movement of hazardous waste and hazardous recyclable material.
