Remote Sensing Project Leader - Responsible for Remote Sensing Activities

CURRENT S&T / RESEARCH - Through environmental monitoring activities, helps to ensure the conservation and protection of aquatic ecosystems.

  • Monitoring of wetland vegetation along the St. Lawrence using remote sensing to provide a current portrait of the distribution of major classes of plants.
  • Monitors land use in the Great Lakes – St. Lawrence basin in order to determine the relationship between changes in shoreline land use and water quality (development of new indicators).
  • Participates in activities aimed at developing water quality monitoring using remote sensing.
  • Participates in a project aimed at integrating the various environmental indicators monitored along the St. Lawrence.
  • Seeks partnerships to extend current activities over a larger geographic area.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES / INTERESTS

Applies remote sensing to the environment (wetlands, water quality, land use)

Analyzes changes based on geospatial data.

Is responsible for and supervises information gathering activities in the field and the acquisition of remote sensing images.

Manages and distributes information.
