New Brunswick Duck Poacher Receives Fine and Hunting Suspension
BURTON, N.B. -- June 16, 2011 -- Samuel Keith F. Drummond, age 32 of Fredericton, New Brunswick, pleaded guilty in Provincial Court in Burton, New Brunswick to violations of the Migratory Birds Convention Act, 1994.
Mr. Drummond was assessed a $1,000 fine for hunting migratory game birds within 400 metres of a place where bait was deposited. He also received a one-year suspension from hunting migratory birds, or from being in the company of anyone hunting migratory birds.
In addition to this fine, Mr. Drummond was ordered to surrender all hunting bait as well as the migratory birds that he had hunted and killed to the Court.
