Project Descriptions
The Georgia Basin Action Plan undertook many projects with a variety of partners that included the Stó:lo Nation, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Fraser Basin Council, the Burrard Inlet Environmental Action Program, the Fraser River Estuary Management Program, Metro Vancouver, the Capital Regional District, the British Columbia Water and Waste Association, the Galiano Conservancy Association, the Georgia Strait Alliance and many others.
These projects included research studies, planning initiatives, monitoring, public outreach and environmental education that communicate science to decision-makers to better manage impacts of regional growth.

Goals
- Collaborative stewardship actions support the sustainability of the Georgia Basin
- Sustainable land, aquatic and resource planning and management support the conservation, protection and restoration of the environment, enhance human well-being and contribute to a strengthened economy
- Scientific and indigenous knowledge supports improved decision-making by enhancing the understanding of key ecosystem stresses
